Was invented in 1901 by Edison. The cadmium negative electrode in this accumulator was substituted for iron one. It have analogous characteristics as compared with accumulators of Ni-Cd system.

Ni-Fe accumulators are used only in industrial manufacturing for power supply of mining electric locomotives, for starting of diesel locomotives, for battery backup in passenger carriages.
